ABB AI562 AC500-eCo 2-Channel RTD Input Module
Two 16-bit RTD channels acquire precision resistance-temperature signals in compact AC500-eCo stations.
Key Information
ABB AI562 is an S500-eCo analog input module dedicated to resistance-temperature measurement. Its two configurable inputs are arranged in one group and support Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100 and Ni1000 sensors together with 150 ohm and 300 ohm resistance ranges. The 16-bit conversion architecture and compact removable-terminal design make the module suitable for focused two-channel temperature acquisition without mixing it with the thermocouple functions of AI563.

Installation
- Use the required removable 11-pin terminal block; the terminal block is ordered separately.
- Switch off all supply and process voltages before connecting, disconnecting or replacing the module unless all documented hot-swap conditions are satisfied.
- Connect the 24 V DC process supply to UP and ZP and include the process supply in the installation grounding concept.
- Use the ABB connection method for the selected two-, three- or four-wire RTD arrangement.
- When a sensor cable exceeds 20 m, use shielded and grounded cable and provide low-impedance equipotential bonding where required.
- Parameterize each channel for the exact sensor type before checking temperature scaling and diagnostics.
Lifecycle
- ABB lists article 1TNE968902R1102 in the Active lifecycle phase.
- The removable terminal block is a separate active ordering item and must be matched to the installed wiring method.
- Retain the exact RTD type, conductor arrangement and scaling when replacing an installed AI562.
- Do not substitute AI563 solely because both modules use 16-bit conversion; their supported sensor families and channel counts differ.
- After replacement, verify open-circuit diagnostics and compare every temperature channel with a known reference.
