01
Key Information
ABB DO526, article 1SAP240800R0001, provides eight 24 V DC transistor outputs rated at 2 A per channel. The outputs are divided into two groups of four with separate process supplies, making the module distinct from lower-current 0.5 A S500 output modules.
02
Functions
- Switches eight 24 V DC field loads through non-latching high-side transistor outputs.
- Divides the outputs into two groups of four, each with its own UP3 or UP4 process supply.
- Provides one yellow output-state LED per channel plus process-supply and error indication.
- Maintains module-wise and group-wise galvanic isolation within the S500 station.
- Supports the documented high-current terminal-unit family for standard and hot-swap configurations.

04
Installation
- Use TU542 for the standard module; select TU542-H only in a system that satisfies ABB hot-swap requirements.
- Provide separate fast 10 A protection for UP, UP3 and UP4 as specified for the process supplies.
- Apply external short-circuit and overload protection because DO526 does not integrate these functions.
- Maintain natural convection and reduce output loading for vertical mounting as specified by ABB.
- Verify both four-channel groups independently after wiring or electronics replacement.
05
Lifecycle
- ABB lists DO526 article 1SAP240800R0001 in the Active lifecycle phase.
- DO526-XC is a separate environmental article and must not be substituted silently.
- Keep the terminal-unit type, supply grouping and channel loads in maintenance records.
- For hot swap, verify the module index, firmware and supported I/O-bus master before intervention.
- Recommission supply LEDs, output states and both group load paths after replacement.
