Key Information
ABB DO561, article 1TNE968902R2201, is an eight-channel S500-eCo transistor output module for 24 V DC loads. All channels form one isolated group and occupy one byte of output process data.
02
Functions
- Controls eight 24 V DC field loads through non-latching transistor outputs.
- Maps all eight output commands into one byte of controller process data.
- Provides one yellow status LED for each output channel.
- Isolates the eight-channel output group from the rest of the module.
- Uses a removable 11-pin terminal block selected separately for screw or spring wiring.

04
Installation
- Fit one compatible 11-pin S500-eCo terminal block; terminal blocks are ordered separately.
- Connect UP at terminal 19 and ZP at terminal 20 for the common 24 V DC process supply.
- Provide the external per-channel protection and load suppression required by the connected device.
- Maintain natural convection; vertical mounting requires the documented reduction to 50 percent group load at the applicable temperature.
- Check output-state LEDs, channel loads and the one-byte process mapping during recommissioning.
05
Lifecycle
- ABB lists the exact DO561 article in the Active lifecycle phase.
- Hot swap is not supported for DO561 in the documented terminal-unit matrix.
- Retain the terminal-block type, process-supply arrangement and field-load data before replacement.
- Do not confuse DO561 with relay model DO571 or 16-channel transistor model DO562.
- Verify all eight output commands and load responses after service work.
