01

Overview

PM5012-T-ETH is the transistor-output basic CPU in the AC500-eCo V3 PM50x2 processor range. Current revision 1 article 1SAP122600R0172 combines controller memory, onboard I/O and a single Ethernet interface.

Six 24 V DC digital inputs and four 24 V DC transistor outputs serve compact control tasks without an external local I/O rack. One option-board slot is available, while the PM5012 design does not provide the processor-module I/O bus used by the larger PM5032 and PM5052 CPUs.

Features

  • Provides four transistor outputs for 24 V DC switching and pulse-width modulation functions.
  • Uses six onboard digital inputs, including channels available for counter or interrupt functions.
  • Combines one Ethernet connection and one CPU option-board slot in a small basic controller.
  • Offers individual channel indication along with processor status LEDs.
  • Supports removable terminal blocks and a micro memory card, both selected for the exact installation.
  • Retains functional compatibility between R0072 and the active R0172 revision when firmware and engineering requirements are met.
04

Applications

  • Small machines needing compact Ethernet control with six inputs and four transistor outputs.
  • Automation panels that do not require the local I/O-bus expansion available on larger PM50x2 CPUs.
  • Fast 24 V DC output tasks using the documented transistor-channel functions.
  • Training, test and compact standalone stations built around AC500-eCo V3.
  • Replacement of an earlier PM5012-T-ETH after project and firmware preparation.
05

Lifecycle

  • The R0172 revision is active and replaces the R0072 revision, which has moved to the Classic phase.
  • Use Automation Builder 2.6.0 or later and CPU/boot firmware V3.6.x or later for revision 1 hardware.
  • Do not downgrade an R0172 processor below its supported firmware baseline.
  • Before exchange, save the application, Ethernet settings, option-board details and every onboard channel assignment.
  • Confirm that the project does not depend on an I/O bus, because PM5012-x-ETH does not provide that expansion interface.

FAQ

What distinguishes the T version of PM5012?

The T version has four 24 V DC transistor outputs; PM5012-R-ETH uses relay outputs.

Does PM5012-T-ETH support local I/O-bus modules?

No. The processor-module I/O bus is not available on PM5012-x-ETH.

How many option boards can be installed?

One TA51xx option-board slot is provided.

Which article supersedes 1SAP122600R0072?

Active revision 1 article 1SAP122600R0172 replaces it.

What is the maximum rated transistor-output current per channel?

The documented rated current is 0.5 A per channel at 24 V DC.

What must be backed up before CPU replacement?

Back up the application and record firmware, Ethernet settings, option board and the complete input/output wiring map.
