ABB TB511-ETH 1SAP111100R0270 Terminal Base

An AC500 V2 terminal base for one processor and one communication module, with Ethernet, two serial interfaces, FieldBusPlug connectivity and an S500 I/O-bus connection.

BrandABB
ModelTB511-ETH
Product TypeAC500 V2 Ethernet Terminal Base
01

Overview

TB511-ETH is the compact Ethernet terminal base in the ABB AC500 V2 TB5x1 family. It provides the physical and electrical base for one processor module and one communication module while presenting the controller interfaces at the base.

The assembly combines an Ethernet RJ45 network connector, two serial interfaces, a FieldBusPlug interface, the 24 V DC supply connection and the I/O bus used to extend the local S500 station.

Features

  • Combines the CPU socket, one communication-module socket and controller-side interfaces on one base.
  • Provides Ethernet access through the RJ45 network connector matched to the Ethernet processor variant.
  • Carries both COM1 and COM2 connections for serial communication supported by the installed processor.
  • Extends the controller through the S500 I/O bus to adjacent I/O terminal units.
  • Supports DIN-rail installation and the documented wall-mounting arrangement with the appropriate accessory.
04

Applications

  • Compact AC500 V2 stations using one CPU and one communication module.
  • Control panels that require the Ethernet processor connection at the terminal base.
  • Local S500 I/O expansion beside the processor station.
  • Systems using one of the base-mounted serial ports or the FieldBusPlug interface.
  • Like-for-like replacement where the processor order-code suffix and Ethernet terminal-base version are confirmed.
05

Lifecycle

  • Order code 1SAP111100R0270 is listed in the Active lifecycle phase.
  • PM57x-ETH, PM58x-ETH and PM59x-ETH processor modules with an R0271 order-code ending are paired with TB5x1-ETH terminal bases having the R0270 ending.
  • A TB511-ETH-XC is a separate extended-condition product and must not be substituted without checking the environmental requirement and processor version.
  • Before replacement, identify the installed CPU, communication module, local I/O chain, Ethernet cabling, serial wiring, FieldBusPlug connection and power terminals.

FAQ

How many communication modules can TB511-ETH accept?

It provides one communication-module position in addition to the processor position.

Which network connector is built into this terminal base?

The Ethernet variant uses an RJ45 connector.

Does TB511-ETH provide serial connections?

Yes. The base includes COM1 and COM2 connections for the serial functions supported by the processor.

How is local S500 expansion connected?

Adjacent I/O terminal units connect through the I/O bus at the side of the terminal base.

What must match when choosing the processor?

The Ethernet terminal-base type and the processor order-code revision must be checked together.

Is TB511-ETH the same as TB511-ETH-XC?

No. The XC designation identifies a separate extended-condition version.
