ABB TB5610-2ETH AC500 V3 Terminal Base
A PM56xx-2ETH processor base with one communication-module position plus dual Ethernet, CAN, serial and local I/O-bus connectivity.
Key Information
TB5610-2ETH extends the AC500 V3 processor base with one position for a communication module. It is intended for controller stations that need the processor interfaces together with one additional network or communication function.
The modular arrangement keeps the processor and communication hardware removable while the terminal base remains wired in the control cabinet.
Functions
- Carries one PM56xx-2ETH processor module and one compatible AC500 communication module.
- Routes two processor Ethernet connections to front-accessible RJ45 ports.
- Provides CAN and COM1 access for serial or CAN-based equipment integration.
- Links the processor to an adjacent local S500 I/O expansion chain.
- Supplies the assembled controller station from a removable 24 V DC spring-terminal connection.

Installation
- Verify that the processor is a PM56xx-2ETH type and that the selected communication module is supported by the AC500 V3 system.
- Allow the full terminal-base width and cable-bend space for the processor, communication module and front connectors.
- Use a 35 mm DIN rail or the documented 4 mm screw-mounting method with 1.2 N·m tightening torque.
- Complete module insertion, removal and wiring under the required cabinet isolation and electrostatic-discharge procedures.
- Document the communication-module type, address and network cabling before replacing an installed terminal base.
Lifecycle
- ABB lists standard order code 1SAP111300R0278 in the Active lifecycle phase.
- The TB5610-2ETHC-XC wide-temperature version is a different product and is not an automatic substitute for this standard model.
- Lifecycle records should associate the terminal base with its processor, installed communication module and Automation Builder project.
- A service replacement should preserve the original slot assignment and network configuration after hardware compatibility is confirmed.
