ABB TB5620-2ETH AC500 V3 Terminal Base
A PM56xx-2ETH terminal base with two communication-module positions and the processor Ethernet, CAN, serial and local I/O connections.
Key Information
TB5620-2ETH provides a two-slot communication expansion level within the standard AC500 V3 terminal-base range. It combines the processor mounting position with space for two communication modules in one coordinated base assembly.
The layout supports controller designs that need more network flexibility than the compact zero- or one-slot bases while retaining the same PM56xx-2ETH processor family.
Functions
- Supports one PM56xx-2ETH processor and two compatible AC500 communication modules.
- Exposes the processor dual-Ethernet connections through two front RJ45 ports.
- Provides CAN and COM1 connectors for additional field or serial communication.
- Connects local S500 expansion I/O through the processor I/O-bus interface.
- Supplies the assembled processor and communication arrangement from the terminal-base power connection.

Installation
- Confirm the PM56xx-2ETH processor and both communication-module types against the applicable AC500 V3 compatibility information.
- Reserve sufficient rail length and front cable space for two communication-module connectors in addition to the processor interfaces.
- Use the documented 35 mm DIN-rail or 4 mm screw-mounting method and observe the 1.2 N·m screw torque.
- Maintain safe isolation and electrostatic-discharge precautions while fitting or exchanging plug-in modules.
- Record the left-to-right communication-module arrangement and network settings before a base replacement.
Lifecycle
- ABB lists the standard TB5620-2ETH order code in the Active lifecycle phase.
- The standard and XC wide-temperature variants have different order codes and application conditions.
- Asset records should link the terminal base to the processor, both communication modules and the project configuration.
- Replacement preparation should verify physical width, module support and field-connection labeling before cabinet work begins.
