The ABB TB846 3BSE021439R1 is a redundant ModuleBus cable adaptor within the ABB System 800xA / S800 I/O distributed I/O family. This module works together with a TB845 outlet and two TK801V0xx shielded extension cables to extend the ModuleBus connection between I/O clusters on different DIN rails. This configuration allows I/O modules on the same electrical ModuleBus to be mounted apart while preserving communication continuity and redundancy. The TB846 can also interface with a TB842 optical adapter to provide optical extension of the ModuleBus for longer cable runs or installations subject to high electromagnetic interference.
