The 1746-NR4 is an RTD/Resistance analog input module in the SLC 500 series, designed to interface 

resistance‑based sensors (such as RTDs or potentiometers) with a PLC system. The module accepts up 

to four separate input channels, allowing users to connect a variety of RTD types or other resistance inputs. 

Once connected, the 1746‑NR4 supplies a small excitation current, measures the resulting resistance or 

RTD response, and converts the analog signal into digital data — which is then made available in the SLC 

controller’s input image table for further processing.
