Allen-Bradley 20BC5P0A0AYNANC0 PowerFlex 700 AC Drive
A conformal-coated 5 A drive with 2.2 kW normal-duty and 1.5 kW heavy-duty ratings, vector control, filtered input and installed brake IGBT.
Key Information
20BC5P0A0AYNANC0 is a Frame 0 PowerFlex 700 drive configured for compact three-phase motor control. Its complete suffix identifies the enclosure, operator-interface, braking, EMC, communication, control and feedback selections and should be retained during any replacement review.
This configuration is supplied with a blank operator-interface plate and no internal communication adapter, allowing the project to select external operating and networking provisions separately.
Functions
- Controls AC-motor speed using selectable V/Hz, sensorless-vector or vector-control methods.
- Provides two independently programmable acceleration and deceleration profiles from 0 to 3600 seconds.
- Supports programmable current limiting and multiple stopping modes for machine-specific response.
- Uses six digital inputs, three digital outputs, two analog inputs and two analog outputs for control integration.
- Monitors heat-sink temperature and provides motor-overload protection within the drive control system.

Installation
- Confirm a 400 V AC three-phase supply and size branch-circuit protection from the applicable PowerFlex 700 installation data.
- Install the IP20 / Type 1 drive inside an enclosure or location that provides the required protection and cooling conditions.
- Because this catalog number has no HIM or internal communication module, identify any separate operator interface and communication adapter used by the machine.
- An external braking resistor is required when the application uses the installed brake IGBT for dynamic-braking energy.
- Retain the existing motor data, control mode, I/O assignments and drive parameter record before removing the installed unit.
Lifecycle
- Rockwell Automation discontinued this catalog number on November 30, 2023 and assigns it to the Engineering Replacement category.
- A substitute should be engineered from the complete catalog suffix rather than selected from current and power alone.
- Migration review should include motor duty, braking energy, EMC arrangement, control wiring and any field-installed network hardware.
- Repair or replacement planning should preserve the original parameter set and identify the installed drive series and firmware revision.
