Bently Nevada 330881-28-04-214-00-02 PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer Assembly
A 214 mm penetration PROXPAC XL assembly with integrated proximity electronics and a 40 mm standoff.
Overview
Bently Nevada 330881-28-04-214-00-02 uses the same metric PROXPAC XL platform as the 265 mm execution but specifies a 214 mm probe penetration. The shorter penetration is a controlled mechanical difference.
The complete configuration includes the approved 8 mm probe, 40 mm standoff, no conduit fittings and a 3/4-14 NPT outer-sleeve thread.
Engineering Data
Functions
Combines the probe housing and its 3300 XL Proximitor sensor into one self-contained assembly.
Permits external access and adjustment of the proximity probe while removing the need for a separate Proximitor housing.
Field wiring connects between the monitor and the PROXPAC XL assembly.
The complete metric ordering code controls probe approval, standoff, penetration, fittings and mounting thread.
Applications
- External proximity-probe access on rotating machinery.
- Compact installations where a separate extension cable and Proximitor enclosure are undesirable.
- Weather-exposed or industrial locations using the specified housing and conduit arrangement.
- Replacement of an installed metric PROXPAC XL assembly with the same penetration geometry.
Lifecycle & Service
- Measure and record the installed penetration, standoff and target gap before loosening the assembly.
- Confirm conduit and mounting-thread compatibility before ordering replacement hardware.
- Protect the housing seal, probe tip and integrated electronics during removal and storage.
- Verify gap voltage, field wiring, monitor response and mechanical clearance after installation.
FAQ
Why must 214 mm be verified before ordering 330881-28-04-214-00-02?
It establishes the probe reach inside the machine. Using the 265 mm version can move the adjustment range or cause physical interference.
What should be measured before removing this PROXPAC XL assembly?
Record exposed standoff, thread engagement, insertion reference, final gap voltage, target position and conduit orientation.
Does the integrated Proximitor eliminate all external wiring?
No. It removes the separate extension cable and housing, but field wiring still connects the assembly to the monitor.
Which parts arrive under the 00 fittings option?
The ordering matrix specifies two plugs and two washers with no conduit fittings.
How should the spare be stored before installation?
Keep plugs installed, protect the probe tip and thread, prevent moisture ingress and preserve the complete model label and approval markings.
