Bently Nevada 3500/25 Enhanced Keyphasor Module
A two-channel 3500 rack module that converts proximity-probe or magnetic-pickup signals into phase and speed references for protection and diagnostics.
Overview
Bently Nevada 3500/25 is a half-height, two-channel Enhanced Keyphasor module for the 3500 Machinery Protection System.
It accepts proximity-probe or magnetic-pickup inputs and produces digital Keyphasor references that identify when a shaft mark passes the transducer. Those references support shaft speed plus vector measurements such as 1X vibration amplitude and phase.
A normal 3500 configuration can accept up to four Keyphasor signals; paired arrangements can support up to eight inputs with primary and backup channels. I/O type, transducer type, threshold method and rack position must be retained with the front-module identity.
Specifications
Features
Phase and speed reference
Digital Keyphasor signals establish rotational timing for rack monitors and diagnostic equipment.
Multi-event processing
The enhanced design can derive a once-per-turn event from a multiple-event-per-turn input.
Front and rear buffered access
Two coaxial front outputs and two rear Euro-style outputs expose the processed references.
Legacy fit continuity
The enhanced design retains form, fit and function compatibility with earlier 3500 Keyphasor modules while adding processing capability.
Applications
1X amplitude and phase
Supplying a rotational reference for synchronous vibration analysis.
Shaft-speed measurement
Processing a proximity or magnetic-pickup pulse train across the documented frequency range.
TMR phase-reference service
Using two modules in parallel to provide primary and secondary Keyphasor signals in a defined TMR arrangement.
Lifecycle
Map

FAQ
Which I/O details are needed before sourcing 3500/25?
Identify isolated, non-isolated or barrier I/O; internal or external termination; rear-module part number; transducer type; and every buffered-output destination.
When does a 3500/25 installation need a paired configuration?
Use the manufacturer-defined paired arrangement when primary and backup Keyphasor inputs are required; rack positions and the number of primary signals must follow that design.
Can a passive magnetic pickup drive 3500/25 at any shaft speed?
No. The datasheet states that a passive magnetic pickup requires shaft speed above 200 rpm; low-speed performance needs application review.
What threshold settings should accompany a 3500/25 spare record?
Retain automatic or manual selection, manual threshold voltage, hysteresis, input polarity, events per revolution and normal signal amplitude.
How should 3500/25 be accepted without disturbing protection?
Under the approved bypass plan, compare speed and phase references, buffered outputs, module status and all dependent monitoring channels before restoring service.
