Bently Nevada SCOUT240-IS Portable Data Collector

A four-channel simultaneous intrinsically safe collector for multichannel vibration analysis, route collection and System 1 integration.

BrandBently Nevada
ModelSCOUT240-IS
Product TypeFour-Channel Intrinsically Safe Portable Data Collector
01

Product Overview

SCOUT240-IS is the four-channel simultaneous-acquisition model in the Bently Nevada SCOUT200 family. It adds multichannel and triaxial measurement capability while retaining the Bluetooth-connected S1 Collector and System 1 workflow.

The data collector and industrial handheld form a two-part solution. Hazardous-area use depends on the approved collector configuration, handheld, sensors, cables and installation-control requirements.

02

Performance

  • Samples up to four sensor channels simultaneously and includes the channel 2–4 breakout cable.
  • Supports triaxial sensors, cross-channel phase, FRF, modal-impact testing and two-plane balancing with the required accessories.
  • Provides spectra through 80 kHz with channel-dependent line counts plus long waveform and order-based capture.
  • Performs route and off-route measurements with about ten hours of typical route use per charge.

System Integration

  • Select the handheld, Android release and Bluetooth path from the tested-device compatibility guidance.
  • Use only approved sensors and cables for the intended hazardous zone; buffered instrumentation outputs may have a lower permitted-area rating.
  • Confirm System 1 route, license, transfer and security requirements before deployment.
  • Plan triaxial alignment, breakout-cable handling and channel naming before route creation.
05

Applications

  • Four-channel hazardous-area vibration routes
  • Triaxial machinery measurements
  • Cross-channel phase, FRF and modal analysis
  • Two-plane field balancing and transient capture

FAQ

What does SCOUT240-IS add over SCOUT220-IS?

It supports four simultaneous channels, higher multichannel acquisition capacity and triaxial-sensor work through the supplied breakout arrangement.

Does SCOUT240-IS include an approved tablet or smartphone?

No. The handheld is selected separately and must be both tested for compatibility and suitably rated for the work area.

Can SCOUT240-IS use any triaxial sensor in Zone 0 work?

No. Use the approved sensor, cable and installation-control combination for the exact zone and certification.

How do channel count and SCOUT240-IS spectral resolution interact?

Available line count decreases as more channels are sampled simultaneously, so define the required Fmax, lines and channel count for each measurement.

What should a SCOUT240-IS quotation include?

Specify approval option, handheld, sensors, breakout and tach cables, magnets or mounting, balancing accessories, software and metrology needs.

What should be tested when SCOUT240-IS arrives?

Check approval and serial labels, battery and charger, all four channels, breakout cable, tach input, Bluetooth pairing, route transfer and calibration records.
