Transfers 4–20 mA with accuracy better than 15 µA.
Product Overview
MTL5541 is a one-channel Eaton Crouse-Hinds series MTL5500 repeater power supply for 2- or 3-wire transmitters.
It powers the hazardous-area transmitter and transfers a 4–20 mA signal to a safe-area load. HART communication is supported on terminals 1 and 2.
The module is intended for hazardous/classified-location interface service and mounts on 35 mm T-section DIN rail.
Performance
Settles to within 10% of final value within 50 µs.
Supports 0 to 360 Ω load at 24 mA or 0 to 450 Ω at 20 mA.
Maintains ripple below 50 µA peak-to-peak.

IndustryParts prepares MTL5541 enquiries with the transmitter wiring, loop resistance and safety documentation aligned.
System Integration
Confirm whether the field transmitter is 2-wire or 3-wire and document its intrinsic-safety entity parameters.
Use terminals 1 and 2 for a HART-enabled loop and keep the approved loop impedance.
Segregate hazardous- and safe-area connectors and preserve their tags during replacement.
Inject loop current and verify analogue scaling, HART communication and fault behavior.

FAQ
Q01Which HART wiring detail is specific to MTL5541?
HART communication is specified on terminals 1 and 2, so the loop must be landed and loaded accordingly.
Q02How should safe-area load be checked for MTL5541?
Calculate the full loop resistance at maximum current and keep it within the 360 Ω at 24 mA or 450 Ω at 20 mA limits.
Q03What field-device evidence should accompany an MTL5541 enquiry?
Provide transmitter type, 2- or 3-wire wiring, entity parameters, loop current, HART use, load and area classification.
Q04Can MTL5541A be treated as the same unit as MTL5541?
No. The A suffix identifies a different passive-input current-repeater execution; match the complete catalog number.
Q05What proves MTL5541 is ready after replacement?
Verify loop power, current scaling, HART access where used, safe-area load, diagnostics and the plant proof test.
