Emerson IC200CPU005-CE VersaMax CPU

A suffix-specific VersaMax PLC CPU with two embedded serial ports and expanded processing resources.

BrandEmerson / GE Fanuc
ModelIC200CPU005-CE
Product TypeVersaMax CPU005 Controller, CE Revision
01

Product Profile

IC200CPU005-CE is the CE hardware execution of the VersaMax CPU005 controller. The CPU005 platform provides 128 KB configurable user memory, floating-point support and two embedded serial interfaces.

The module stores the application in system flash and battery-backed RAM. The CE suffix, program image, serial protocol settings, rack I/O map, power-supply capability and any EZ Program Store device must be retained for a controlled exchange.

System Role

01

Executes the VersaMax control program and scans local or expanded I/O.

02

Provides two serial ports for the configured programming or device protocols.

03

Maintains application and configuration data in flash and battery-backed memory.

04

Supplies the enhanced processing and memory class of the CPU005 family.

04

Compatibility

  • Match the complete IC200CPU005-CE hardware suffix and approved firmware.
  • Confirm the VersaMax power supply provides the required 3.3 V capacity.
  • Archive port mode, baud rate, station address and every serial cable assignment.
  • Record expansion modules, rack order, memory allocation and EZ Program Store behavior.
05

Applications

  • Compact machine control with VersaMax modular I/O.
  • Legacy equipment using serial HMI, RTU, programmer or device communications.
  • Installed systems needing the CPU005 memory and processing class.

FAQ

Why should the power supply be checked before fitting IC200CPU005-CE?

CPU005 has expanded 3.3 V demand; an unsuitable supply can cause startup or stability problems even when the rack and program are otherwise correct.

What serial information is essential for an IC200CPU005-CE replacement?

Record each port standard, protocol, baud rate, parity, station address, cable pinout and whether the port powers an accessory.

How can an EZ Program Store affect IC200CPU005-CE startup?

Its stored image and update mode can overwrite or restore controller content, so the device and its procedure must be treated as part of the controlled backup.

What should be preserved besides the ladder program for IC200CPU005-CE?

Save hardware configuration, memory allocation, retentive data plan, serial settings, passwords where authorized, fault tables and startup mode.

What is a practical acceptance test for IC200CPU005-CE?

Verify memory and battery status, rack I/O, both serial links, clock, retentive values, scan behavior and a controlled stop-to-run restart.
