Installation
Install the approved CF9 IOTA and module in accordance with the Honeywell Series C hardware procedure. Confirm mechanical seating, power connections and the intended controller location before connecting the C300-to-Control-Firewall link.
Connect IOLINK and related control-network wiring only as shown in the project architecture. After energization, check the module power and status LEDs, verify controller communication and confirm that the system reports the expected firewall hardware.
Do not add an external CF9 solely by model similarity. Confirm whether the target is a traditional C300 or EHPM arrangement, or a newer platform with integrated firewall capability, before ordering and commissioning.
Lifecycle
Honeywell has continued to document CC-PCF901 for installed CF9 applications, including hardware-revision-specific service notifications. Record the complete module revision before planning a replacement.
Modernization projects may move to EHPMX or C300v5 designs with built-in firewall capability. The migration design should therefore be reviewed at the architecture level rather than assuming a direct one-for-one external CF9 replacement.
