The Honeywell MU-FOED02  51197564-200 is a UCN Fiber Optic Extender used in Honeywell industrial automation 

and process control systems that rely on the Universal Control Network (UCN) communication backbone. This module 

extends UCN field networks over fiber optic cabling, enabling high-speed, long-distance signal transmission beyond 

the limits of conventional copper wiring.

Operating on 24 V DC, the MU-FOED02  51197564-200 converts electronic control signals to optical form, ensuring 

interference-resistant communication and preserving the integrity of UCN traffic—including field sensor data, inter-rack 

messages, and control signals—over distances up to approximately 2 km with compatible fiber cabling. It is ideal for 

scenarios where remote racks, field devices, or controllers must communicate reliably in electrically noisy environments 

or across extended installations.
