A 48 V Honeywell power supply identified for Process Manager, APM and HPM power-system service.
Honeywell SPS5785, part number 51198651-100, is identified in Honeywell service guidance as the current 48 V power-supply replacement used with Process Manager, Advanced Process Manager and High-Performance Process Manager power systems.
The power supply is part of the xPM infrastructure that supports controller and I/O availability. Honeywell recommends redundant power supplies, with each supply connected to a dedicated source, so that a single supply fault does not remove the entire power path.
| Model | SPS5785 |
| Honeywell part number | 51198651-100 |
| Product type | Power supply |
| Nominal output designation | 48 V |
| Application | PM, APM and HPM (xPM) power systems |
| Recommended architecture | Redundant supplies with dedicated input sources |
| Maintenance indicators | DC output, AC input, fan/temperature, battery and charger status |
| Service-life planning benchmark | 10 years |
| Replacement context | Current replacement part identified in Honeywell system-maintenance guidance |
Plan work during an approved maintenance window and review the applicable xPM Service Manual before disturbing the power system. Confirm the supply part number, input source, redundant partner, battery-backup condition and cabinet wiring before removal.
For a redundant arrangement, verify that the remaining supply is healthy and that each supply is connected to its intended dedicated source. Observe all power-system alarms, LEDs and battery or charger indications before and after the replacement.
Honeywell advises that near-end-of-life supplies should generally be changed during planned downtime. Replacement of a failed supply can restore redundancy, but the work should be performed by trained personnel following site electrical-safety and change-control procedures.
Honeywell maintenance guidance uses ten years as the recommended life-expectancy benchmark for these xPM power supplies. Age, operating temperature, dust loading, fan condition and alarm history should be included in the replacement plan.
The MC-ZPSUG2 upgrade kit is identified for modernization of older xPM power systems and packages an improved power supply together with battery-backup and CMOS-battery items. Sites should monitor power-system alarms and schedule end-of-life replacement before reliability is compromised.
For availability assistance, provide the exact model, installed revision and required quantity.
