The NI PXIE-8360 is a remote‑control interface module designed to allow a PC or host computer to control a PXI or CompactPCI‑based instrumentation system remotely via a fully transparent MXI‑Express link. When installed in a PXI chassis, the PXIe‑8360 uses a PCI Express–to–PCI bridge and an MXI‑Express x1 cable to connect to a corresponding host‑side interface (e.g. a PCIe host card), enabling the host PC to treat the remote PXI chassis as a local bus — effectively extending the computer bus over cable to drive instruments, I/O modules, or signal‑acquisition hardware.
