ModelS8VK-T96024
Product TypeThree-Phase Switch Mode Power Supply
01

Overview

S8VK-T96024 is Omron’s 960 W S8VK-T switch mode power supply. It delivers 24 VDC at 40 A and provides a 48 A maximum boost capability for short-duration starting loads.

The supply accepts three-phase 380–480 VAC and can also be applied on an approved two-phase input arrangement within the published limits. PFC, protective functions and parallel/series operating provisions support demanding control-panel designs.

Features

  • Provides high-density 24 VDC power for industrial control loads.
  • Supplies temporary boost current for loads with demanding startup behavior.
  • Supports redundant/load-sharing strategies through documented parallel operation.
  • Provides a wide adjustment range for compensating distribution voltage drop.
04

Applications

  • Large PLC, remote-I/O and industrial networking panels.
  • Machine-control systems with high 24 VDC load or startup demand.
  • Panels requiring two-unit parallel or series arrangements under the manufacturer’s conditions.
05

Lifecycle

  • Calculate continuous load, startup current and ambient derating before final sizing.
  • Select upstream protection and conductors for the actual three-phase or two-phase supply.
  • Provide enclosure ventilation and maintain the specified mounting clearances.
  • Record the output setpoint and verify remote-load voltage during commissioning.

FAQ

When should the 48 A boost capability of S8VK-T96024 influence panel design?

Use the boost curve for short startup events only; if the load remains above 40 A, select a larger or parallel supply rather than treating boost as a continuous rating.

What changes when S8VK-T96024 is supplied from two phases instead of three?

Check the published two-phase input range, upstream current and derating rules, because branch protection and thermal loading can differ from the three-phase design.

How should two S8VK-T96024 units be commissioned in parallel?

Set both outputs closely, use balanced conductor lengths, observe the approved parallel arrangement and test load sharing and fault behavior before connecting critical loads.

Which marine or high-noise installation details matter for S8VK-T96024?

Follow the applicable Omron mounting, grounding and any external noise-filter requirements for the target certification instead of relying on the catalog rating alone.

How can nuisance shutdown after an overvoltage event be handled on S8VK-T96024?

Remove and investigate the cause, allow the input to discharge, then recycle the input as specified; do not repeatedly reset the supply without checking load and wiring conditions.
