Pepperl+Fuchs KFD2-STC4-1 One-Channel SMART Transmitter Power Supply
A one-channel non-intrinsically-safe signal conditioner that powers SMART transmitters and transfers their analog and digital communication signals.
Product Overview
Pepperl+Fuchs KFD2-STC4-1 is a one-channel SMART transmitter power supply and signal conditioner for non-intrinsically safe applications. It powers two- or three-wire SMART transmitters and also accepts two-wire SMART current sources.
The analog input is transferred as an isolated 4–20 mA value while superimposed digital communication passes bidirectionally. The device supports HART, BRAIN and Foxboro protocols.
Integrated test sockets accept a HART communicator. When the control-loop resistance is too low, the internal 250 Ω resistor between terminals 8 and 9 can be included.
Performance
Transmitter supply
Provides the field-side operating supply for supported SMART transmitters.
Analog isolation
Transfers the measurement as an isolated current signal to the control side.
Bidirectional communication
Passes superimposed SMART protocol signals in both directions.

About IndustryParts
https://www.industryparts.com/Exact-model support for KFD2-STC4-1
IndustryParts keeps the complete KFD2-STC4-1 identity, requested quantity and installed-system evidence together so the proposed supply can be compared with the actual application before dispatch.
System Integration
Confirm the Power Rail or terminal supply and the control-side load.
Use the internal 250 Ω resistor only when the communication loop requires it.
Connect the communicator and prove bidirectional digital communication before handover.
Applications
Configuration record
Retain transmitter type, output load, resistor use and terminal map.
Isolation boundary
Use the model only for the documented non-intrinsically-safe application.
Acceptance
Record analog accuracy, communication and power indication after replacement.
FAQ
Q01Is KFD2-STC4-1 an intrinsically safe isolated barrier?
No. Pepperl+Fuchs defines it as a signal conditioner for non-intrinsically safe applications.
Q02When is the internal resistor on KFD2-STC4-1 used?
Use the 250 Ω path between terminals 8 and 9 when the control loop lacks sufficient HART communication resistance.
Q03Which SMART protocols pass through KFD2-STC4-1?
The documented protocols are HART, BRAIN and Foxboro.
Q04What transmitter types must be identified before ordering KFD2-STC4-1?
State whether the loop uses a two-wire transmitter, three-wire transmitter or two-wire current source, plus the control-side load.
Q05What proves KFD2-STC4-1 is commissioned correctly?
Document supply indication, 4–20 mA scaling, isolation behavior and successful bidirectional communicator access.
