The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMR is an Enhanced Modbus Master/Slave communication interface module for Rockwell 

Automation ControlLogix® systems that enables robust integration with devices using the Modbus RTU/ASCII 

serial protocol. Installed directly into a single ControlLogix backplane slot, it presents Modbus network data as I/O 

to the controller, allowing seamless bidirectional data exchange between Modbus equipment and the ControlLogix 

processor.

Unlike standard Modbus modules, the MVI56E‑MCMR employs a reduced I/O data block to transfer data efficiently 

between the Modbus network and the processor, making it especially suitable for remote rack applications over 

networks such as ControlNet™ where lower backplane bandwidth usage is desirable.
