Siemens 6ES7288-1ST60-0AA0 SIMATIC S7-200 SMART CPU ST60
A compact ST60 controller with 36 digital inputs, 24 transistor outputs and integrated Ethernet and RS485 interfaces.
Key Information
6ES7288-1ST60-0AA0 is the CPU ST60 DC/DC/DC article in the SIMATIC S7-200 SMART range. Its integrated I/O consists of 36 digital inputs and 24 transistor outputs, providing 60 onboard channels without a separate local I/O rack.
The CPU combines 50 KB of program and data memory with Ethernet/PROFINET and RS485 communication. It is engineered with STEP 7 Micro/WIN SMART.
Functions
- Executes sequential and closed-loop machine control using 30 KB program memory and 20 KB user-data memory.
- Interfaces directly with 36 sensors and 24 DC loads through the onboard channel set.
- Supports PROFINET controller operation and I-Device functions at the documented firmware levels.
- Provides six high-speed counter inputs and three pulse outputs for supported positioning and counting tasks.
- Runs up to eight PID loops and supports an optional microSDHC card for maintenance workflows.

Installation
- Reserve the 175 mm module width and mount the CPU with ventilation appropriate to its 20 W maximum power loss.
- Apply the AA0 temperature limits for the selected mounting direction: up to 55 °C horizontally or 45 °C vertically.
- Terminate transistor-output loads with the correct 24 V DC grouping and protective measures.
- Document the Ethernet/PROFINET addresses, RS485 settings, expansion layout and high-speed I/O allocation before replacement.
- Back up the Micro/WIN SMART project and verify its CPU revision before download.
Lifecycle
- The AA0 revision is maintained as a spare-part article.
- Do not substitute the later AA1 revision without checking temperature ratings, approvals and project compatibility.
- Preserve the complete 6ES7288-1ST60-0AA0 number in cabinet drawings and purchasing records.
- A controlled exchange should include program backup, I/O labeling and a recorded network configuration.
