The Yokogawa EC402-51 is an ESB Bus Coupler Module that provides the master interface for the ESB fieldbus network in 

Yokogawa distributed control and FIO (Field I/O) systems, linking Field Control Units (FCUs) and Node Units via the ESB 

communication bus.

The module includes two ESB bus connector ports and supports installation in FCUs such as AFV30S, AFV30D, AFV40S, 

AFV40D, A2FV50S/D and A2FV70S/D. When two modules are installed in slots 7 and 8 of an FCU, a dual‑redundant ESB 

bus configuration can be formed.

The standard specification defines a transmission speed of 128 Mbps, a transmission distance up to 10 m per port (total 20 m), 

support for up to nine connectable nodes on each port (upper and lower), and a compact form factor.
