TU508-ETH is the spring-terminal version of the ABB Ethernet interface terminal unit used beneath compatible AC500/S500 communication interface modules. The plug-in module can be removed while the field wiring remains landed on the terminal unit.

Two front RJ45 connectors with indication LEDs provide the network connection. Thirty field terminals support the inserted module signals and the UP, UP3 and ZP process-supply connections.

• Spring-clamp field connections avoid the tightening operation required by the screw-terminal TU507-ETH variant.
• Dual RJ45 ports allow the inserted Ethernet interface module to support the network arrangement defined for that module.
• Mechanical locks retain the communication interface module on the terminal unit.
• A female I/O-bus connector links the terminal unit to the first compatible expansion position.
• The field-wired base can remain installed when the plug-in interface module is exchanged under the applicable safe procedure.

• Use with ABB AC500/S500 Ethernet communication interface modules that explicitly list TU507-ETH or TU508-ETH, including supported CI5xx variants.
• The communication-module documentation determines channel allocation and the available Ethernet rate.
• TU508-ETH is the standard spring-terminal product; TU508-ETH-XC is a separate wide-temperature order code.
• Check the inserted module, network topology, field-terminal assignment and Automation Builder project before assembly.
• Do not substitute a serial TU509/TU510 base because those products use a D-sub network connector rather than dual RJ45 ports.

• ABB lists order code 1SAP214000R0001 in the Active lifecycle phase.
• For a like-for-like service exchange, retain the spring-terminal construction and the standard-versus-XC environmental version.
• Record the installed CI5xx module, Ethernet port usage, network addresses and all thirty field-terminal labels before removal.
• Verify that the replacement base is grounded through the intended DIN-rail or wall-mounting arrangement.
