Model3500/60 163179-01
Product TypeSix-channel Temperature Monitor without Recorder Outputs
01

Product Overview

163179-01 is the 3500/60 Temperature Monitor without recorder outputs. The module accepts one to six RTD or thermocouple signals, conditions the measurements and compares them with user-programmable alarm setpoints.

The 3500/60 occupies one full-height front slot and works with a rear full-height temperature I/O module selected for the required RTD or thermocouple interface.

02

Performance

  • Six independently processed temperature channels support machinery and process temperature protection.
  • Thermocouple selections include types E, J, K and T over their documented temperature ranges.
  • RTD selections include 100 Ω platinum, 120 Ω nickel and 10 Ω copper sensor types.
  • Alert and danger setpoints include programmable alarm delays for stable protection logic.
  • TMR arrangements can use groups of three adjacent monitors where the system design requires triple modular redundancy.

System Integration

  • Choose a non-isolated RTD/TC, isolated TC or internal-barrier I/O module to match the field circuit and area classification.
  • Configure sensor type, range, channel behavior and alarm delays in the 3500 Rack Configuration Software.
  • The 3500/60 does not provide the recorder outputs available on the 3500/61 variant.
  • Maintain adjacent rack positions when implementing the documented TMR grouping.
  • Verify field wiring, cold-junction requirements and sensor integrity during loop commissioning.
05

Applications

  • Bearing-metal and casing temperature monitoring on rotating machinery.
  • Process temperature alarms integrated into a 3500 machinery protection rack.
  • Multi-point thermocouple monitoring with an isolated I/O selection where channel separation is required.
  • RTD-based asset protection using a common rack alarm and communications environment.
