Bently Nevada Ranger Pro 70M403 Tri-Axial WirelessHART Sensor

A tri-axial wireless accelerometer with integral temperature sensing for WirelessHART networks.

BrandBently Nevada
ModelRanger Pro 70M403
Product TypeTri-Axial WirelessHART Vibration Sensor
01

Product Profile

Ranger Pro 70M403 is the tri-axial WirelessHART version of the Bently Nevada Ranger Pro sensor. It acquires acceleration, velocity, temperature, waveforms, spectra and PeakDemod information for wireless machinery monitoring.

The model is recommended for WirelessHART gateways and uses HART IP when exchanging dynamic data with System 1. The four ordering fields for mounting, radio, battery and approval must still be completed.

System Role

  • Provides three-axis wireless vibration and integral temperature data through a WirelessHART network.
  • Supports overall-value publication by gateway and dynamic data exchange through HART IP.
  • Can participate in a mesh network and route data for other Ranger Pro sensors.
  • Enables configurable measurement intervals, thresholds and severity states.
04

Compatibility

  • Use a compatible WirelessHART gateway and verify its required firmware.
  • Confirm System 1 version, HART IP or GCI licensing and the site network design.
  • Select mounting hardware, battery and agency approval for the actual machine point.
  • Check radio path, hop depth, sensor orientation and hazardous-area requirements.
05

Applications

  • Wireless monitoring of motors, pumps, fans, blowers and compressors.
  • Hard-to-access or cable-prohibitive machinery locations.
  • System 1 wireless condition-monitoring expansion.

FAQ

Can Ranger Pro 70M403 be provisioned on an ISA100-only gateway?

No protocol match should be assumed; 70M403 is the WirelessHART model and should use a compatible WirelessHART architecture.

Which gateway information should accompany a Ranger Pro 70M403 request?

Provide gateway model, firmware, sensor count, planned hop depth, HART IP or interface licensing and System 1 version.

Why must the mounting option be chosen carefully for Ranger Pro 70M403?

Tri-axis interpretation and X/Y accuracy depend on correct orientation and appropriate alignment hardware.

Does the Ranger Pro 70M403 base model include a battery and approval selection?

Those are separate ordering fields; specify battery inclusion and the required North American or ATEX/IECEx option.

How should wireless range be validated for Ranger Pro 70M403?

Perform a site survey considering obstacles, antenna type, sensor orientation, mesh routing and the intended gateway location.

What commissioning evidence is needed for Ranger Pro 70M403?

Record device tag, mounting orientation, network health, firmware, measurement configuration, data quality and alarm/severity checks.
